Kevin McGuckin (Irish: Caoimhín Mag Eocháin) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Derry, with whom he has won the National League. He plays his club football for Ballinderry Shamrocks. McGuckin and Ballinderry collected their first All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship's in the 2001/2002 season. McGuckin was the captain of the Derry team for 2007 and is currently the vice-captain. He is regarded as one of the best defenders in Ireland.[1]

McGuckin made his Championship debut against Longford.[2] He was named Derry captain for 2007, but missed most of the season after breaking his leg in a National League against Louth in April of that year.[1] He returned to come on as a substitute against Laois and started against Dublin in the All-Ireland quarter-final.

He had instumental in the 2008 National League, which Derry won, defeating Kerry in the final.[3][4]

McGuckin has been selected to play for Ulster before and was part of the team that finished runners-up to Leinster in the 2005 Railway Cup final.[5]
