Kevin Martin (English musician)

Kevin Martin is a London-based musician, record producer, and journalist. He is active in the genres of dub, jazzcore, industrial hip-hop, and dubstep.

His musical projects include:

  • God

God was a jazzcore group that was part of the grindcore and industrial rock scenes. Justin Broadrick, formerly of Napalm Death and later of Godflesh, eventually joined. This would be the first of the Martin/Broadrick collaborations, Techno Animal and Ice (band) being subsequent. John Zorn also worked with this group[1].

An industrial hip-hop group that collaborated with El-P and Blixa Bargeld.

Another industrial hip-hop group, similar to Ice, which eventually collaborated with Dälek, Vast Aire, and Anti-Pop Consortium.

An amalgamation of industrial hip-hop and dancehall.

  • Pressure

A dubstep project, with releases on the Hyperdub label.

He also compiled the Macro Dub Infection (parts one and two), Isolationism (album) and Jazz Satellites CDs for the Virgin Ambient series.

He has previously written for music magazines such as Muzik and Jockey Slut.
