Kevin Andrew Maher (born October 17, 1976 in Ilford, London) a footballer who is currently unattached following his release from Southend United.
Though born in London, he is eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland. Maher is a tough central midfielder. He began his career as a trainee at Tottenham Hotspur, but was released without ever playing for the first team. He joined Southend in 1998, and served 6 years as club captain.
He joined Gillingham on loan in March 2008 and made his debut on 8 March in a 4–0 away defeat to Hartlepool United.
Maher was released at the end of the 2007-08 season.[1]
