Kevin Long (skateboarder)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kevin 'Spanky' Long (b. August 6, 1984 in Oak Park, California) is a professional skateboarder. The nickname 'Spanky' comes from his older brother's friends who apparently compared him to Spanky from the Little Rascals. Long skates goofy (standing with his right foot forward on the skateboard).

In 2003, Long won the Tampa Am contest in Tampa, Florida. In the same year he turned pro for Baker Skateboards. In 2005 he received his own pro model shoe, the KSL1, with Emerica. Kevin's second pro shoe, named the "KSL Dos", was released in 2007. Long has appeared in the video, Baker 3, which was the recipient of the Best Video award at the 8th Annual Transworld Skateboarding Awards. He was also featured in Emerica's "This is Skateboarding" and "Kids in Emerica" which both show his incredible talent for skateboarding. Recently he appeared in Baker Skateboard's "Baker Has a Deathwish.

Long's current sponsors are Baker Skateboards, Spitfire Wheels, Emerica, RVCA, and Pharmacy Boardshop.

His older brother, Patrick Long, is a professional race car driver.
