Kevin Howard

Kevin C. Howard (born June 25, 1981 in Hinsdale, Illinois) is a infielder in Minor League Baseball who plays for the Las Vegas 51s in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League.
Howard graduated from Westlake High School in Westlake Village, California and played baseball at the University of Miami. He was a 2nd team High School All-American infielder in 1999 and at Miami he was a Freshman 1st team All-American, College Freshman of the Year and Baseball America Freshman of the Year. He was a second-team All-American short stop in 2001.
He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 5th round of the 2002 MLB Draft. Played for the Dayton Dragons in 2003, Potomac Cannons in 2004 (selected to the Carolina League All-Star team) and Chattanooga Lookouts in 2005. He was traded by the Reds to the New York Yankees (along with Ben Himes) in exchange for Tony Womack on December 8, 2005. Played for the Trenton Thunder in 2006.
Started the 2007 season with the Philadelphia Phillies minor league teams in Lakewood and Clearwater. Picked up by the Los Angeles Dodgers at mid-season and assigned to the Jacksonville Suns. He hit .292 for the Suns, including 7 home runs in 64 games and was promoted to the Las Vegas 51s in 2008.
