Kevin Hogan Psy.D. (born November 1961) is a social psychologist and the author of over a dozen books including; Selling: Powerful New Strategies for Sales Success, Covert Persuasion, Science of Influence, Tinnitus: Turning the Volume Down, Proven Strategies for Quieting the Noise in Your Head. His book, The Psychology of Persuasion has sold over one million copies worldwide.

Hogan gained popularity by analyzing the body language of politicians, particularly being one of the first experts to publicly go on record stating he believed President Clinton was not forthcoming about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky[1]. The New York Post reported Hogan's analysis and soon after he analyzed the nonverbal communication of Hillary Clinton, Judge Ken Starr, Starr's staff, and numerous other figures [2]. Later, Hogan would be consulted on the body language of Al Gore and George W. Bush for the BBC [3] [4] during the 2004 elections.

Hogan taught Persuasion and Influence at the University of St. Thomas Management Center. During five years during the late 80's and early 90's, he used his knowledge of persuasion and influence to develop a successful[5] [6]program that helped children to stop drug abuse. His work was subsequently recognized by President George H. W. Bush and Nancy Reagan.

He has been featured in magazines such as Psychologie Netherlands (July/August 2007) Redbook, Success!, Selling Power, Redbook, Cosmopolitan, Woman's World, Complete Woman, The New York Post, Selling Power (November/December 2003 and May 1996),Mademoiselle, First for Women (October 2002, December 2004) Wprost (29 Pazdziernika, 2000) and other publications.

He is a leading Covert Hypnosis and body language expert[7]. Hogan coined the phrase, Law of Reciprocity Covert Hypnosis as well as Covert Hypnosis.[citation needed] His definition of Covert Hypnosis is "subtle influence on the unconscious that is intended to assist in behavioral or attitudinal change." Hogan has shared his expertise about body language persuasion and influence with the New York Times, the BBC, Fox Television and dozens of poplular magazines.
