[edit] Reviews of his notable "Remarkable Leadership"
About Eikenberry's book, Remarkable Leadership Forbes magazine wrote: Eikenberry's latest book, Remarkable Leadership, aims to guide readers step-by-step to transform into what many of us want to be--the boss. The book identifies 13 key points, or competencies, from learn continually to set goals and support goal achievement, offering methods of applying each to life.[3]
Publishers Weekly wrote: “In hopes of narrowing the gap between those who aspire to remarkability and those who’ve already achieved it, Eikenberry provides plenty of “Now Steps,” exercises for evaluating and improving one’s position that can be implemented in short order. Obvious but edifying techniques include storytelling practice, journaling and building a network of well-nurtured relationships. Eikenberry also offers online resources (“Bonus Bytes”) tied to specific points in the text, available on the book’s web site. A solid leadership primer, this book will instruct, if not exactly inspire, anyone looking to manage others more effectively” Publishers Weekly Annex, September 2007[4]
Other reviews [5] include: “Kevin Eikenberry has poor timing. And he cuts in line. And, oh yeah, he makes you think. This may sound like a really odd way to start a book review, especially a very positive one. I received Kevin's book, Remarkable Leadership - Unleashing Your Leadership Potential One Skill At a Time, late last week. I wish he'd been a little earlier. I would have changed my reading list for the new leadership class I'm teaching this fall (hence, the poor timing).” [6]
“Regular visitors to the Turn will know that I have been talking about Kevin Eikenberry’s new book, “Remarkable Leadership” for some time; in fact anybody that knows anything about leadership has been talking about it – and finally the big day is here at last: I requested special permission from my great editor Doug Hanna to return for one post, so that I could be part of this “Remarkable” day.” [7]
