Kevin Cassidy is a Gaelic footballer from Gweedore, Co Donegal, Ireland. He plays his club football for Gweedore and is a member of the Donegal inter-county team.
One of the most talented wingbacks of this generation, Kevin Cassidy has already picked up an All-Star in 2002 after a summer of consistently high quality performances. Cassidy was also selected to represent Ireland in the Compromise Rules Series in Australia. Cassidy played no part in the 2006 Senior Football Championship after dissiplinary problems and went to Boston for the Summer where he played in the Boston GAA championship. Kevin returned and played a vital role in Gweedore's County Championship Final where they beat St. Eunans. He reutrned to the cnter-county scene playing this time in midifeld along with Neil Gallagher and played a pivotal role in landing Donegals first National Football League title in 2007. It was the first piece of silverware for the county senior team since 1992.
In the 2007 Ulster Senior Football Championship Cassidy played in the team that eliminated reigning champions Armagh in Ballybofey on May 27, 2007 by a scoreline of 1-09 to 1-08.
Cassidy is a fan of the Celtic F.C. soccer team, having spent some of his childhood in Glasgow. He regularly attends matches at Parkhead.
