[edit] Career history
Detective Bernard first appears in the episode "Burn Card" as an Internal Affairs detective, investigating a shooting in which Detective Ed Green is involved. Green is cleared of all charges, but subsequently leaves the precinct; Bernard subsequently replaces him as the partner of Detective Cyrus Lupo.
Bernard had not joined IA willingly, but was told that he could try for a transfer to Homicide after a two year tour of duty. He does not like dogs, because his nickname in Catholic school was "Saint Bernard".[1] In the episode "Bogeyman", Bernard mentions growing up in Compton a neigborhood of Los Angeles.
[edit] Other Appearances
Anthony Anderson guest starred in the Law and Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Fat" portraying Detective Lucius Blaine who works alongside Elliot Stabler in a sexual assault case.
