If you send me your email, I can send you the Washington Post stories from Nexis documenting my contribution. Since there was a happy ending, I suggest the item is not all negative and shows the DAR gets it after all.--Ron

[edit] DAR
Hello. I temporarily moved the contribution you made to the DAR article to the talk page, until I can verify that the source exists, and can write a proper citation for it. You might want to consider paring it down a little as well. Added to the Marian Anderson issue, the article is now overwhelmed with racial issues, which may violate the undue weight guidelines. - Crockspot 21:18, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, something else, I just realized who you are, and you should be aware of the conflict of interest guidelines regarding editing articles about yourself, or companies you work for. I am not one of those who believes that it is impossible for someone to objectively edit an article about themselves or their company, but there are those who do believe that, and they may make an issue of it. WP:BLP, WP:OR, WP:NPOV, and WP:RS are also some good guidelines to have under your belt. Happy editing. - Crockspot 21:25, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- I found an abstract and wrote a proper cite. I also wikilinked your name to your wiki article, and removed the external link per policy. Some of the language does need to be adjusted. What works well in a newspaper article may be considered too POV for an encyclopedia, things like "ignite" and "firestorm" would be considered pov. Some people give others a hard time for even saying that there is a "controversy" about something without a secondary source documenting the "controversy" itself. - Crockspot 21:42, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Kessler author 2005 med res.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Kessler author 2005 med res.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:06, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- I have marked the file as GFDL. Please read up on WP:GDFL in order to make sure that this license to make sure it is sufficient according to your purposes, and that you are OK with its distribution clauses. If you disagree, please mark the file with {{db-author}}, and it will be deleted. The Evil Spartan (talk) 01:36, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Ronald Kessler.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Ronald Kessler.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:28, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
PLEASE NOTE: THe photo is a free use photo that is on my website: www.RonaldKessler.com
-
- Just a note
- That image will be deleted unless you certify you are the copyright holder and are willing to make it available under a free license. To achieve this, just add "I am the copyright holder, and I ..." etc plus {{GFDL}} on the image page Image:Ronald Kessler.jpg. If that image is Public Domain just add a direct link to the source and a {{PD-US}} tag.
- Thanks

- A second note: I can see that image is on that site, but I can't find any information about it being "a free use photo".

I have deleted Image:Ronald Kessler.jpg, because it was not being used in any articles and it was an exact duplicate of Image:Kessler author 2005 med res.jpg. Please let me know if you have any questions. —Bkell (talk) 15:39, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ronald Kessler
Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article Ronald Kessler, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 21:00, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

- I removed it, since he is clearly notable, and COI is not a reason for deletion. However, you must add some third - party references to the Polk awards, and reviews of the books showing their best-seller status. Please read WP:BFAQ for some relevant further advice DGG (talk) 02:38, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
I don't know how to list references for every award going back to 1966 except to say they are all listed in Who's Who in America. The same with listings of books that have been on the NY Times list, which are all online. The references to books being on the NY Times list have been deleted from the article in any case. Also please note that the NY Times did not run a correction after all and so I suggest that the controversies section be deleted.--Ronald Kessler
[edit] Autobiography, COI, and removing comments
Please be sure to read the entire Autobiography content guideline and Conflict of interest behavioral guideline before editing the Ronald Kessler article and any other article you may have a conflict of interest in editing (such as NewsMax Media). Also note that removing comments left on article talk pages is considered vandalism and you may be blocked from editing for doing so. TheslB (talk) 02:44, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sources
Mr. Kessler,
I am looking to expand the wikipedia article on you at Ronald Kessler. I looked up your website and that has a lot of usable information. However I was wondering if you can guide us to some third-party published sources that we can use in addition, for example any biographical profiles published in newspapers/magazines, or even book reviews that contain substantial biographical information. Being a journalist, I am sure you understand why we would prefer to use such sources in place of, or at least in addition to, your own website.
Also, is there any published information available on the following topics:
- Your education.
- The reporting for which you won the two Polk awards: The LIU website has detailed award citations for recent award winners (e.g., 2006), but not for the 1970s.
Any help you can provide will be appreciated. Regards. Abecedare (talk) 02:41, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Could you email me at KesslerRonald@gmail.com so I can send you material directly with links or material pasted in? Thanks!--Ronald Kessler
