Description

Keşküls from the dergâh of Hacı Bektaş-ı Veli (w:Hajji Bektash Wali, who is a well known Turkish Sufi. The dergâh is used as a museum today. Keşküls are grant bowls; Sufis of the dergâh begged from people and used these bowls during begging. Sufis believed that begging would test the dervish's character and help him to overcome his vanity and pride. Keşkül as a word means "bowl" in Farsi.
