[edit] Selam
That's all.. - Hi there, we're waiting for your possible contributions to the Turkish Wikipedia as Turkish happens to be your mother tongue. Take care, --Bahar (Spring in Turkish) ✍ 22:07, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hopefully I'll take my part there too, but I guess my main contributions to Wikipedia will be non-textual-wise. Maybe I can translate a few articles for the Turkish wikipedia. Though as a bilangual, you can do that way better than I can :P. Ombudsee 19:21, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] ek$i
Merhabalar, sözlük kutucuğunuzu pek beğendim, ödünç aldım kendime :). Sözlüğün adını "ek$i" şeklinde yazmak dışında oynama yapmadım. Fakat buna userbox şeklinde bir userbox yapılsa sözlükçülerle ilgili bir kategori sayfası yapmak da mümkün olur sanırım, bence öyle daha iyi olur. Elinden userbox gelen birini bulmalı. [edit] Your panorama at Featured Pictures
Hi Ombudsee. Thank you for contributing the photo as it is a very important scene that you have reported. A number of people have commented on how it is warped at the edges. I think I may be able to help with this if you are able to provide me with the original files from your camera. You don't have to do this but I think it will more likely be featured if the warping can be fixed. Please visit my page and click the 'email this user' option on the left side. Hi Kerem,
Just to let you know that the Featured Picture Image:Dinkfuneral3.jpg is due to make an appearance as Picture of the Day on June 8, 2007. If you get a chance, you can check and improve the caption at Template:POTD/2007-06-08. howcheng {chat} 20:25, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your panorama again
Well it seems your panorama is pretty popular.. I just received a message on my talk page from somebody who wanted to buy a print from me! I don't think its really appropriate for me to accept money from your photo (and I don't have a printer that is capable of printing 100 inch photos anyway!). You can see his comments on my talk page. And it was no problem at all to help you out with the stitching. :) I was glad to help, but you should still take the credit for the photo. You did everything right with the photography so the stitching was quite a simple job with the appropriate software! Diliff | (Talk) (Contribs) 01:53, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Armenian Genocide talk
I appreciate your comments and I understand the points you raise - but of course I still disagree with many of your claims/perspectives/views (For instance I don't agree with your point that if all/more Armenians were like Dink that it would make much of a difference [and in fact there are more like Dink in many ways that you realise aparently]- if anything I think it would make deniers more complacent and unwilling to admit anything. The reasons for [official] Turkish intrangesence on this issue go far beyond any issues with being hurt by harsh Armenian attitudes or even due to fear of Armenian land claims [the latter being the most absurd strawman argument I can imagine - please get real] - the fear of the Turkish elite is much more fundemental and not directly related to current Armenians today at all. Still I do not always agree with other Armenians on everything or on their approaches and attitudes [I've never hated Turks per se...but again I wouldn't say that most Armenians do per se]. Of course there is much that could be done better (and I've certainly done my part). But I disagree that by discontinuing the political pressures it would help Turkey come to terms with this issue - quite the opposite. Its a shame that you aparently fail to understand this). I'm not sure that the talk page for the AG here on Wikipedia is necissarily the best place to discuss these issues however. You might be surprised about how much I know and understand all of these issues - including those of (various) Turkish perspectives (and/or lack thereof etc). If you would be interested in taking this discussion further I would suggest you perhaps visit the Armenian Genocide forum. If you hae trouble finding it I can provide you with a link.--THOTH 04:18, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Question
Hello;
I know you're not the person to ask this, but I looked it up over the internet but couldn't find an answer.
Which day or days of the week is holiday in Saudi Arabia? is Friday holiday? If not, how do the people attend to friday prayers?
And does your answer apply for all the arabic countries?
Thanks; —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kerem Ozcan (talk • contribs) 13:04, 1 May 2007 (UTC).
- Hello friend , if you talking about weekend then yes in Saudi Arabia weekends are (Thursday and Friday ) , its kinda diffrente in some other Arab countries , for example in United arab emirates (Friday and Saturday) and should be (Friday and Sunday) in Egypt. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Eksicapture290607.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Eksicapture290607.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Sunshine Man 08:50, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Armenian Genocide
Hi I added the Discrimination2 template as it lists Armenian Genocide as one of it's template box articles. I will defer to your experience if it still warrants inclusion. Benjiboi 23:22, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
- Ooops, didn't want to add the template to your page, you can view it here [[3]]. Benjiboi 23:25, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
-
- No worries about the template either way, we currently are discussing if the template could be formatted in a more friendly way or a modified version that may be smaller. We are just in process of adding the banner to all the talk pages in addition to the template on all the articles.
- As for Armenian and homophobia on the same page is actually part of the point. You don't have to be either for someone to think you are and discriminate against you based on their assumption. Benjiboi 06:51, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:EksiLogo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:EksiLogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:30, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus
If the current situation at the article Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus had been the first or second time, I would have agreed with you. But it's not. It's always the same thing: a fierce edit war followed by protection followed by a cease-fire. Someone comes along and triggers a new edit war and a new protection, which ends with a cease-fire. Someone comes along, and it starts all over again. There is no real consensus and no really stable version of the article. And like I've indicated on WP:AN/I: I've given up the hope that there will one day be consensus and a stable version of the article. AecisBrievenbus 23:50, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your significant contribution
Hi Kerem. I've long been meaning to express my admiration for your "significant contribution", and I figured now was as good a time as any. In this vile time for US-Turkish relations, I can't help but think that Dink is the one piece that might have been able to make things better: to moderate the Armenian diaspora while westernizing Turkey's world view.
His perspective just never got across the Atlantic. This trouble could have been his finest moment. Sorry for being morbid! Wonderful picture, bro. DBaba 19:18, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] PKK
If you do not want an edit war (as you say) then try to find a compromise, and do not simply remove changes with which you disagree, I am not a supporter of the PKK, but I find the formulations you keep on reverting to heavily biased.--Vindheim (talk) 11:32, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ahmet Ben
Hi there. Your article has been tagged for deletion. I posted a comment on the talk page of this article. Please act fast - it could be deleted in the next 5 days, simply because you added a footnote that refers back to the article itself. Please let me know if you need any help. Cbdorsett (talk) 11:45, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying so quickly. The article was originally under a different name - I will leave it up to you to sort it out. I'm not clear on what A1 refers to - you have to use your own judgment. Just be aware that people do watch these things. If the guy was truly notable, there has to be more than one cite on the web. What did he do besides be in the wrong place at the wrong time? Put it in the article. Cbdorsett (talk) 11:50, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] IPA
I'd start with the sounds of the language you know best. Since you're Turkish, go look at Turkish phonology and Turkish alphabet. Also look at manner of articulation and place of articulation to see how consonants are distinguished. You can also look at International Phonetic Alphabet and Help:IPA, the latter of which has examples from English. Good luck. Ƶ§œš¹ [aɪm ˈfɻɛ̃ⁿdˡi] 21:04, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ottoman Flag
Photos are more trustable sources than postcards drawn by Germans and Frenchmen who had no idea on how the star should be positioned in front of the crescent.
BTW, the stars in the flags that you drew are not well-crafted: check out the Jihad 1914 photo and you'll see that the crescent and star are indeed "fatter" than those on the present-day Turkish flag, but the lines of the star were (like the present flag) "straight", whereas the lines of your stars are a bit "yamuk" :)
http://www.turquie-memoire.com/jihad.jpg
The star could be done better (the lines of the star are not straight and do not correspond to each other):
- You are right, and I know it already. I'll try to give it another shot in the next convenient time. Regards, Kerem Özcan (talk) 09:07, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Please help finding a song
Hi, you're the first active user from Turkey I could find, so I'm going to ask you for help finding a song which I believe is in Turkish. My sincere apologies if it's not Turkish, or you have no time to help me.
The excerpt can be found here. Much appreciation if you can find out what this song is called, who is the artist, or at least spell out part of the lyrics (then I can attempt to find it myself).
Thanks in advance, Ynhockey (Talk) 21:06, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Template:Eksi
A tag has been placed on Template:Eksi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes.
Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 05:55, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
