[edit] Comment

I was recently exposed to uv rays during welding on my car. I carelessly discarded my auto dimming lens to "short cut" the time taken to complete the task. I only looked at the arc for 10-15 seconds but the affects were immediate. I could no longer see the color white , everything appeared yellow instead. I finished work for the day and my vision seemed to be clearing up. I fell asleep only to wake with the most painful feeling in my eyes. It felt like I had been poked in my eyes. The pain was tremedous. I ended up being temporarly blinded for the next 36 hours. Practice saftey when welding , never look directly at the arc without proper eye protection. -67.24.166.33

[edit] Infection vs. Inflammation

...the article mentions both but they are actually quite different. AED 07:10, 30 July 2005 (UTC)

is keratitis contagious? gary (unsigned comment Dec 1)

Sort of, though it would depend upon what kind of Keratitis it was. This site seems to have an reasonable overview of transmission of the viral form. Forms like Photokeratitis would not be contagious. IANAD, though, so don't use what you read here as a diagnosis, check with your doctor, etc.--Arcadian 03:54, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

Besides, the article doesn't even mention the big group of endogen causes like vasculitis.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.14.121.1 (talk) 09:21, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Small addition

I think it is important for wikipedia users to know that severe occular alergy can cause keratitis and I added a sentence providin this information. I think it is useful and genuine. I'd be glad if this minor improvment is not removed. thank you.SunnieBG 23:29, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
