[edit] Nominating an article as selected article

  1. Check the selected article criteria and make sure the article meets all of them before nominating.
  2. The nominations should be placed on the Selected article candidates page.
  3. List the article at the top of the "Current nominations" section below using the syntax: # {{la|Article Name}} ~~~~ with an edit summary of "Nominating [[Article Name]]"
  4. Please preview your addition to make sure all information is properly filled in and the links are working.

[edit] Promoting an article as selected article

Anyone who shows understanding of the criteria and the instructions below can review an article, as long as you are not a major contributor to the article being reviewed.

  1. Add portal_kerala=yes parameter to the {{WP India}} template on the article's talk page.
  2. Add the picture to Portal:Kerala/Selected articles under relevant section, using the format used for other images. Bold the entry for articles that are already featured. Update the count on top of the page.
  3. Add #[[Portal:Kerala/Selected articles/Selected article NO/ARTICLE NAME]] to Portal:Kerala/Selected articles, replacing NO with the corresponding article's rank in the selected article queue and ARTICLE NAME with the name of the article.
  4. Click the generated red-link of the corresponding article, and add summary using the format used by other selected articles present in the list.
  5. Update the count on the top of the page as well as on the code of the portal shown below.

[edit] Removing articles failing to get selected

Anyone who shows understanding of the criteria can review an article, as long as you are not a major contributor to the article being reviewed.

  1. If you feel a particular page does not meet the required criteria, please remove its entry from the nominations page with a brief summary as to why you object the article's promotion.
  2. Next, leave a detailed message on the article's talk page explaining with criteria it fails to meet, coupled with any suggestions for further improvement of the article.

[edit] Scheduling article for main page of the portal

Each day's selected article is selected from the pool automatically using the formula:

(( {{CURRENTDAY}}+31*{{CURRENTMONTH}} ) mod (X-1))+1

where X is the current number of selected articles. The formula yields 8 for nine selected articles, thus selecting Portal:Kerala/Selected articles/Selected article 8 from the pool.

  1. Create a new subpage named   Portal:Kerala/Selected picture candidates/ExampleName
  2. Copy the following content into the new blank subpage:
    • Do not change this portion of text at all: {{subst:PAGENAME}}

Add   {{Portal:Kerala/selected picture candidates/ExampleName}}   to the top of the list in the Current nominations section of the Selected picture candidates page

If you have problems formatting your nomination, someone else will fix it, don't worry! If you wish to simply add your nomination to Selected picture candidates page without creating the subpage, that is OK as someone else will create the subpage. The important piece of information is the pointer to the image, and the reason for the nomination.

  1. Make sure that the article has been up for discussions on the Portal:Kerala/Selected picture candidates page for at least seven days (two days for already featured pictures).
  2. Edit the nominations section of the candidates page, and cut the picture's entry. Paste it on top of the archive page's successful nominations section.
  3. Add the picture to Portal:India/Selected pictures under relevant section, using the format used for other images. Bold the entry for articles that are already featured. Update the count on top of the page. Bold the entry for articles that are already featured.
  4. Add #[[Portal:Kerala/Selected pictures/Selected picture NO/PICTURE NAME]] to Portal:Kerala/Selected pictures, replacing NO with the corresponding picture's rank in the selected picture queue and PICTURE NAME with the name of the picture.
  5. Click the generated red-link of the corresponding article, and add summary using the format used by other selected articles present in the list.
  6. Update the count on the top of the pages as well as on the code of the portal shown below.
