From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kerrie Taurima (born Kerrie Perkins in 2 April 1979) is an Australian long jumper. She had a promising career as a junior athlete, and trained at the Australian Institute of Sport, but went on a two year hiatus after 2000 after disappointing progress. She made a successful return, and won the national long jump title in 2004 and 2005[1]. However after winning the title in 2005 she was unable to attend the World Championships in that year due to injury. The following year she won a silver medal in the long jump at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, coming second place to compatriot Bronwyn Thompson. Kerrie Taurima is the wife of former Australian long jumper Jai Taurima, whom she married in 2003[2].
