Kernow off road track, or KORT, K,O,R,T is a scale model off road race track for radio controlled cars, between Helston and Falmouth in west Cornwall, in the United Kingdom. The club and track are privately run, but welcomes members of the public both as spectators and competitors. The track was created by Barry Tuffrey (MOOKY) and Mark Palmer (ASSASSIN) on the Palmer family farm in mid 2006, primarily to give them a local venue, where they could pursue their hobby, of running radio controlled cars. The first open meeting was held in October 2006, and from that date the KORT has developed into one of the Premier locations in the south of England to race. The club website www.kernowoffroadtrack.co.uk has one of the most active club forums in the UK, with one of the clubs Seven administration staff members online most nights to answer questions.
The KORT is a member of the BRCA (british radio control car assosiation)http://www.brca.org/ which is the governing body of all the land based side of this little known international sport. The BRCA setout the chritera its members should comply to, as well as covering all its members with third party insurance.
