Kerben (Kyrgyz: Кербен, older name Karavan) is a village in the Jalal-Abad Province of Kyrgyzstan. It is the administrative centre of Aksy District.

Kerben (formerly Karavan) is administrative centre of Aksy district, Kyrgyzstan. Kerben is well-known due to Aksy tragedy which was starting point of the so-called Tulip revolution in 2005. Despite the fact the town officially has been founded in early 1920’s, middle agean Persian historiographers noted in their works a caravan saray, fortified “hotel” for merchants and travelers, in a place that very close to today”s Kerben. Archaeological excavations carried out by A. Bernshtam and Co approved that records. Kerben is located in the northwest part of the Jalalabad oblast some 220 km from the regional centre Jalalabad and 60 km from the Tashkumyr town railway. Kerben town borders in the southwest side with the village of Nanai that belongs to Uzbekistan. Kerben is located in the center of Aksy rayon, at a height of 1,200 meters above sea level. The lay of the land is mainly flat. The climate is classified as continental. The population of Kerben is about 25 thousands people.
