[edit] History
Athletic Football Club Keravnos Keratea was unofficially founded in 1926 and was finally recognised by the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) in 1928. Since 1953 Keravnos was one of the founding members of Athens Football Clubs Association (EPSA), until 2003, when Eastern Attica Football Clubs Union (EPSANA) was established. From 1979 to 1997 Keravnos competed in the National Amateur Championship (later renamed into ‘Delta Ethniki’ and ‘Regional Championship’). Until then, the club had participated in three Amateurs’ Cup Finals in 1979, 1983 and 1985, when they finally managed to win the trophy. Moreover, Keravnos have won the 1st, 2nd and 3d EPSANA Cups in 2003-04, 2004-05 and 2005-06, respectively. The club’s most recent success was in 2004-05 when they won once again the EPO Greece Amateurs’ Cup after a 3-0 win over Orfeas Souroti at Municipal Stadium of Volos. It was in the same season when they lost promotion to neihbours Koropi. By far the greatest moment in the history of Keravnos came in May 2008, when the team finally won Delta Ethniki Group 9 and promotion to next season’s Gamma Ethniki.
