Keraniganj is located at 23.6833° N 90.3125° E . It has 94765 units of house hold and total area 166.87 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Keraniganj has a population of 530174. Males constitute are 54.6% of the population, and females 45.4%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 283997. Keraniganj has an average literacy rate of 37.7% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
