Kerakat is a town and a nagar panchayat in Jaunpur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

As of 2001 India census[1], Kerakat had a population of 12,472. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Kerakat has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 68%, and female literacy is 50%. In Kerakat, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.[1]
