[edit] History
Kepware started in 1994, when the company's primary product goal was to develop a low cost alternative to Human Machine Interface (HMI) packages such as Wonderware and Intellution. Kepware began the development of an OPC and DDE server product in early 1996. Initially this communications product was only a DDE server. They embarked on this direction at the request of Rockwell Automation who were looking for third party providers of communications servers to augment the communication offerings of its RSView product. Operating system support includes; Microsoft Windows Desktop, Server and Embedded (Windows CE and Windows NT/XP Embedded).
