Hello!
[edit] About Me
My real name is John O'Hara and I was born on April 7, 1983 in Phoenix, Arizona. I transplanted myself into the Western New York community of Amherst, New York in August 2004, where I reside near the campus of University at Buffalo.
I am a huge fan of SimCity, especially SimCity 4. I'm part of the furry fandom. I also dabble in geocaching from time to time.
I survived the October 2006 Buffalo Thundersnow Storm!
Politically, I am libertarian as well as a principled constructionist concerning the Constitution for the United States and the state constitutions.
[edit] Personal Statement on Wikipedia
I personally believe that Wikipedia is and should be an environment that is creative, fun, and educational to all persons. I'm disappointed that some members have "left" Wikipedia because of disagreements and creative differences; but the very nature of Wikipedia often leads to many differences in ideas concerning the project. The best advice I have is to everybody to realized that the whole point to Wikipedia is to have fun learning and educating others. When new challenges do arrive, I believe all should not be discouraged and instead work through them, especially through compromise. Doing so allows for better cooperation on the Wikipedia project, as well as outside of Wikipedia.
[edit] My Quirks and Other Issues
I am an addicted wikisurfer, as I like to call it. I spend a considerable amount of my personal free time reading the entries; vastly more so than editing. I basically go from article to article following links.
In conversation, I refer to "articles" in Wikipedia as "entries[1]". This mainly comes from the fact that Wikipedia from a technical standpoint is a specialized database.
I do not seek any special privileges in Wikipedia, like those of adminship, and nomination of such status will be declined.
I am ever vigilant against violations to Wikipedia policy by removing them when encountered, such as advertisements, non-neutral POV, ad hominem (personal attacks), etc.
I accept WikiMedia Foundation's use of the GNU Free Documentation Licence (and any other licence WikiMedia Foundation may impliment in the future) and respectfully decline acceptance and use of any other licence concerning my work. I feel that dual licencing my work in WikiMedia entries is from a technical standpoint confusing and innapropriate as all WikiMedia entries are ever changing and always reorganized. The use of a secondary licence, in my opinion, is voided as new edits are made by members not using the same secondary licence and several are incompatible with the GDFL and each other.

It is my personal preference that if you use any talk page you also send a notice or response either through e-mail or instant messenger so that I'm notified in a timely manner. I infrequently read talk pages, and usually only when there are major changes to the entry.
