Here are some tips to help you get started:
- To sign your posts (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Follow the Wikipedia:Simplified Ruleset
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Wikipedia:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!

[edit] Week of Aug 15
--Keno 02:35:18, 2005-08-18 (UTC)
After contributing to a number of wikipedia entries, I have finally decided to create my own account. Today, I created a page for Hogwarts First Year list of supplies, a piece of information from the Harry Potter series of novels I felt was sorely missing.
[edit] Signing comments
Please sign your talk page comments, like the one you added to Talk:Serenity (Firefly vessel), by adding four tildes (~~~~) to your postings, which the MediaWiki edit process automatically converts into your linked username and a timestamp. (I've retroactively added it for you on T:S(Fv).) It helps readers understand who is commenting and when they did so, which is especially important considering that people may be reading these comments years from now. Thank you. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 07:57, 24 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Ori battlecrusier
Hi, I just saw your addition to our tech page with info on the Ori battlecrusier. Acutaly I was about to add it when I saw you already did. Since it was only about 8 minutes after the episode finished I was admazed that it was already up. This shows how fast WP can be updated. I congradulate you on your speed. Good job. I just added a little more info. Tobyk777 05:49, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
