Kent Street, Perth

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kent Street in Perth, Australia is a major access road to many facilities and places like Curtin University and the Perth Hockey Stadium. In many cases, Kent Street has otherwise been renamed by annoyed Victoria Park residents to "Curtin Park Motorway". This is because many do not like the vast majority of drivers experience as many of them are provisional drivers driving from and to the University.

The length of Kent Street is about 5km, between Manning Road and Albany Highway, and for some part of its stretch, hosts a dual carriage system with a major intersection round-about. Road verges in some parts of Kent Street have been set aside for future widening.

Buildings and offices along the street include Perth's, CSIRO building and one of Australia Post's major freight factories.

[edit] School history

Kent Street also passes by Kent Street Senior High School, which was the first state government school to be built south of the Swan River. The school has a vast area of land to play many sports like cricket and soccer.
