Kent Robbins (April 23, 1947 - December 27, 1997) was a successful songwriter who wrote countless hits between the 1970s and 1990s.

Born Kent Marshall Robbins in Mayfield, Kentucky.

Attended college at the prestigious Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee

In 1974, began writing for Charley Pride's Pi-Gem Music

In 1981, formed his own company with publisher Buzz Cason

In 1985, received a Grammy nomination for Country Song of the Year for The Judds' "Love is Alive"

Died in an auto accident near Clanton, Alabama on December 27, 1997.
