Kent Fire and Rescue Service

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is the statutory fire and rescue service for the county of Kent covering a geographical area south of London, to the coast and including major shipping routes via the Thames and Medway rivers. The total coastline covered is 225km (139 miles); it has 66 fire stations, and 13 district fire safety offices. The FRS provides emergency cover to a population of 1.5 million.[1]

The area meets the boundaries of the London Fire Brigade to the north of the county, Surrey to the north west and East Sussex to the south west of Kent.

Kent Fire and Rescue operates 66 fire stations, 14 of which are crewed day and night (wholetime), 9 day crewed (Monday to Friday 09:00 - 18:00) and the remainder are crewed by retained firefighters who live near to their fire station and can arrive there within five minutes of a call being received.
