Kenny Robinson

Kenneth Neal (Kenny) Robinson (November 3, 1969 - February 28, 1999) was a pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the Toronto Blue Jays (1995, 1997) and Kansas City Royals (1996). Robinson batted and threw right-handed. He was born in Barberton, Ohio.
In a three-season career, Robinson posted a 2-2 record with 40 strikeouts and a 3.91 ERA in 48.1 innings pitched.
Robinson died in Tucson, Arizona during a spring training car accident at the age of 29.

Robinson attended Monrovia High School in Monrovia, California and was a standout in baseball and track. He led the Wildcats to 5 Rio Hondo League Titles in both sports and has the Monrovia High School record for the fastest time on the 200 metre. Kenny graduated early thanks to his academic expertise, and was immediately drafted to the New York Mets in the 5th round. After numerous discussions with his coach, Kenny decided to forgo the Major Leagues for college, and after a three-year stint at USC, Kenny was drafted as the number one pick in the Draft.

Robinson only spent one year on the Durham Bulls before being promoted to the Majors. During his one year in the Minor Leagues, Robinson threw 200.46 innings with 79 strikeouts and a 1.43 era Robinson was the number one recruit in the Minors, and he was quickly promoted his second year.
