Kenneth Brian is a talented new face on the country music scene. Critics have called him “the past, present and future of country.” As a teen, Brian learned to play the guitar in North Central Florida at home with his family in Gainesville. He has been in love with music ever since. As his interest in music grew, Brian formed a band to back his vocals in 2000. He and his band mates began putting on shows at local clubs [1]. In the fall of 2002, Brian up and left for Nashville, Tennessee where he planned to build on his music career. He took his belongings, his guitar and eight years of experience on the road with him. Since 2003, Brian and his band have been traveling on tour throughout the country. After moving to Nashville, Brian began working in the Music Row studio writing for Sony/ATV publishing [2].
Brian’s blossoming talent was then noticed by director Dave Steakly [3]. Brian soon landed the role of country singer Hank Williams Senior in Hank Williams: Lost Highway in Austin, Texas at the Zachary Scott Theatre. Brian still spent most of his time working in his music career. In 2005, Kenneth Brian released his self-titled debut album which caught the ears of many new listeners. In 2006, Brian released his second album entitled “Brighter Day”. This new CD features many infamous instrumentalists on many of the tracks. Dave Roe, a band member of Johnny Cash plays the bass beautifully on many tracks of the album [3]. Mark Horn, a former band member of the Derailers, provides the melodious beat for several songs on the CD [3]. “Nashville Line” and “Brighter Day” are two of his most popular songs off of his newest album [2]. Kenneth Brian’s concerts and previously released albums have received reviews flooded with high appraisal from his fans. Reviewers include Austin’s public radio station, RAM magazine, The Omaha World Herald, Times of Acadiana, an Austin American statesman, and many more [2]. Brian appears to have a promising future in the world of country music.

Kenneth Brian’s music has a taste of swing, honky tonk and western rock, which gives it an original sound. He derived the feel of his music from his early life raised in Florida and his roots of family from West Virginia [1]. Brian’s music is lively and energetic and his lyrics are relatable and often reflect his life and his experience as a musician. Brian gives credit to many of his own personal musical inspirations such as Hank Williams, Sr., Del Reeves, Buck Owens, Johnny Horton, Gram Parsons, Ernest Tubb, Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, Lefty Frizzell and Webb Pierce [4].

Kenneth Brian’s band changes for each album he puts out. Kenneth Brian’s band for his first album included five members that made up his Beer Run Boys. On his second album Kenneth Brian provides the vocals, Hunt Sales and Richard Delmer Prior play the drums, Avery Anderson is on the fiddle, and Wes Davis and Bobby Daniel play the bass guitar [5]. On “Brighter Day”, Brian works with Dave Roe on the electric and upright bass guitar, Mark Horn and John Matigue on the drums, Kevin Owens plays the pedal steel guitar, Rich Gilbert on the pump organ, auto harp, and optigan, and Cassidy Feasby performs harmony vocals [2]. Currently, Brian’s touring band includes Bobby Daniel on the upright and electric bass, Herb Stiener on the steel guitar and Brian himself on vocals and guitar [4]

Kenneth Brian and his band have traveled all over the country spreading their funky new-age country style music. They have performed at venues all over the United States. Brian has taken his show to states including Kansas, Florida, New Mexico and Virginia [2].
