Kenichi Mikawa (美川憲一 Mikawa Kenichi?) was born in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture on May 15, 1946. He is among the most popular TV stars, comedians, vaudevillian actors, and singers in Japan. Though he has not recorded a new hit in over thirty years, he continues to make appearances on Kōhaku Uta Gassen, the popular New Year's Eve music broadcast.
Mikawa's real name is Yoshikazu Momose (百瀬由一 Momose Yoshikazu?). He has Type A blood and is 172.5cm tall.

He always features the most well-known TV-program,Kohaku Uta Gassen on NHK, the New Year's Eve song program. He also regularly appears on various variety shows in Japan.
Hie costumes are always very gorgeous (ゴージャス) and gaudy. The costumes he wears for Kohaku are usually upwards of 100 million yen.

Mikawa is acting as a okama star, that is to say, though he is not a female, his behavior is regarded as a female's. He also wears lipstick and eyeshadow not in the male sense to enhance male handsomeness, but rather to accentuate his femininity.
