Ken Whillans

Ken Whillans served as Mayor of the Town of Brampton, Ontario, Canada in 1973 and Mayor of the City of Brampton from 1974 to 1989. Whillans drowned while vacationing with family in 1989 and was replaced with interim Mayor Paul Biesel until municipal elections were held in 1991. A street which runs parallel to the Etobicoke Creek Trail between Vodden Street and Church Street was named in his honour.
