Ken Oosterbroek

Ken Oosterbroek (1962 - April 27, 1994), was a South African photojournalist and member of The Bang-Bang Club. Ken Oosterbroek was killed by friendly-fire in Tokoza township, about 25km east of Johannesburg, on April 18, days prior to the first free elections in South Africa in 1994. He had a highly acclaimed career, and was the chief photographer for "The Star" newspaper in Johannesburg, South Africa's biggest daily broadsheet. Ken was nominated the South African Press Photographer of The Year, three times and won numerous World Press awards.
