The Rick Rydell Radio Program is a local talk program focusing on local and state issues, politics and current events. It features the Washington Report, with US Senator Lisa Murkowski, a bi monthly report on capitol hill and the effects to Alaska.

The program is regularly called into by local luminaries of all persuasions including past and current elected officials, business leaders and the "workin stiffs", as Rydell refers to fellow citizens, from all across the state.

Hunting and fishing are regularly discussed and the politics surrounding them. Rydell is a retired guide and served on the Fish and Game Advisory Committee and is a Life Member of the NRA, and proclaims to be "Alaskas most heavily armed radio talk show host."

Rydell has also been vice president of the PTA at his children's school and currently serves as vice President of the booster club for South Anchorage High's football team.
