Kente weaving is a traditional Ghanaian art. I visited a village loaded with Kente weavers with my parents. Unfortunately, many of the weavers are underage (some as young as 8). In fact, many come from neighboring Togo in search of money. What they got is 2 years of unpaid training (but they are fed and housed) and then they return to their country after the third year with a loom and skills. |
