Kemira

Kemira (OMX: KRA1V) is a chemical industry group that consists of four business areas. Kemira is headquartered in Finland.
Kemira’s main shareholder is Oras Invest Oy and its owners, members of the Paasikivi family. Former main owner, the State of Finland, sold largest part of its holding to Finnish investors in August 2007. After the sale transaction Oras Invest holds 17.1% and the State of Finland 16.5% of Kemira's shares.
Kemira became the world's biggest provider of the pulp and paper chemicals after its acquisition of the pulp and paper chemical operations of Lanxess. In water treatment chemicals, Kemira Water is the market leader (largest world market share). Titanium dioxide production has been developed by Kemira Pigments. The brands of the Tikkurila paints division are major players in the Nordic countries and even market leaders in Russia. After the acquisition of Kraski Teks, Tikkurila is the largest paint corporation in the Russian market.

Kemira was originally the state chemical company, producing fertilizer. However, the corporation expanded, and the fertilizer division was separated into Kemira GrowHow.
