[edit] Speedy deletion of Motocade
A tag has been placed on Motocade requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. asenine say what? 06:30, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hello. Based on your note on the talk page of the above article, the material has been relocated to your userspace (currently located at User:Kelpi/Motocade) for further development. You indicated on the talk page of the article that the band has a music video in rotation and at least one song on the musical charts, which would establish notability, but the article did not indicate any of that. Please feel free to move the article back into article space after significance has been asserted. I'd also ask you to please incorporate reliable sources to verify the information in order to avoid deletion through other processes. If you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to drop me a note at my talk page or to ask at the help desk, which is typically manned around the clock by volunteers. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:32, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Garage bands
You wrote, "I guess there must be hundreds of garage bands nobody has heard of trying to create their own article so admins must keep an eye out." I wish it was only hundreds! My rough estimate is that Wikipedia deletes something like thirty to sixty garage-band-with-a-MySpace-wants-a-Wikipedia-article efforts per day! (Possibly more.) --Orange Mike | Talk 13:40, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
