Kelvin dela Peña

This is a Romance language name; the family name is Peña, not dela Peña.

Kelvin dela Peña (born January 19, 1984 in Manila, Philippines) is a Filipino-Canadian basketball athlete.

He is the youngest son of Susan Chicote-Dela Peña and former San Miguel PBA athlete Ricardo Dela Peña, and a brother to Richard Dela Peña, who also has an accomplished background in basketball.

Kelvin is currently playing for NCAA's Mapua Institute of Technology and the Philippine Basketball League. In his rookie year with MIT, the prized recruit from Mount Royal College in Calgary, Canada was awarded the NCAA Season 81 Seniors Basketball Rookie of the Year Award (ROY) in a ceremony at the Cuneta Astrodome. Dela Peña has led the Cardinals into a Final Four slot in all of his 3 seasons in the NCAA league.

With averages of 15.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and a league-high 5.6 assists per game and two triple-doubles, Dela Peña was adjudged as the 2007 season's most valuable player, the first Cardinal since Reuben dela Rosa of 1995. Kelvin was also named into Season 83's Mythical Five together with Red Lions’ Yousif Aljamal, Heavy Bombers’ Marvin Hayes and Knights’ Dino Daa and Bryan Faundo..
