Kellyville railway station (previously known as Burns Road) is a proposed station for the North West Metro to be located in the suburb of Kellyville, Sydney between Burns Interchange and Balmoral Road. The station will be underground and is currently under planning. When the line is opened in 2017, the station will be served with trains every 3 minutes for most of the day.
Kellyville station will have an island platform, but because the tunnels will be spaced at the same distance apart as this island platform, there will be no curves in the platforms.
Kellyville station will be built with a car park for 1200 car spaces, a bus interchange, taxi stands, and kiss and ride stands. The station will also have a private road for bus and taxi access only. There will also be connections to the Burns Interchange North West T-way station.
The station will serve primarily as a commuter station for Stanhope Gardens, Glenwood and Parklea yet as development of the area continues, the area surrounding the station will become high-density residential and commercial making the station not only a commuter station but a convenience station. The Burns Interchange area will be a prime example of Transit Oriented Development.
The stations design will be similar to that of Wolli Creek railway station, Sydney with parts of the station being underground in a cut and cover tunnel whilst the rest will be open air.
[edit] Accessibility
The station will have Easy Access for wheelchairs.
