[edit] 2005: The Hazel Eyes Summer Tour

  • The 46-city tour ran from July 6 opening in Lubbock, Texas and ended in New York on October 11.
  • Several venues were cancelled, due to Clarkson contracting bronchitis and walking pneumonia. However she returned that December to make up for these cancellations, following her Australian tour. Also, the Pensacola, FL concert was cancelled due to Hurricane Dennis and the Pensacola Civic Center, the concert's performance place, being used as a hurricane shelter. It was rescheduled for September 17th, 2005 but was cancelled again due to Clarkson's bronchitis. It was never rescheduled after that.
  • The July 17 Orlando, Florida concert was webcast live on AOL. A key thematic moment in her concerts is her rendition of Annie Lennox's 1992 hit, "Why", which she introduced as her favorite song. The 70-minute show featured frequent sing-alongs from the audience and expressions of gratitude from Clarkson. There were rock arrangements to most songs, with an a cappella "Beautiful Disaster" and a two-acoustic guitar-only "Breakaway".
  • Several shows, including the August 14, 2005 show in Green Bay, Wisconsin featured a cover of the Rascal Flatts hit I'm Movin' On.
  • Due to popular demand, "Hear Me" was added to the tour set list after Clarkson was, as she put it, "hated on" during the Breakaway Tour for not performing this song at any of her shows.
  • Upon returning to the States for her make-up shows, she replaced "Why" with Tommy James & The Shondells' 1968 number "Crimson and Clover", and also included the holiday tune "Blue Christmas".
  • The Hazel Eyes Tour featured a new song called "Come Here" which is, according to Clarkson, "probably going to be on the next record."

Set List:

  • 3. I Hate Myself for Losing You
  • 6. Addicted
  • 8. Why (Cover)
  • 9. Crimson and Clover or I Want You To Want Me
  • 11. Come Here

[edit] 2005-2006: The Hazel Eyes World Tour

  • Clarkson returned to "Crimson and Clover" until the 5th date at Cardiff for Cheap Trick classic I Want You to Want Me for 2 dates, whilst switching it again to AC/DC classic You Shook Me All Night Long which was also played as staple intro for all her shows, for London and Manchester. And then alternating between "I Want You To Want Me" and "Crimson and Clover" for the remainder of the tour. It is believed that she changed "Crimson and Clover" to "I want you to want me" to appeal to the younger than usual audience that attended her concerts in the UK.

[edit] 2006: The Addicted Tour

  • 24-city North American tour, starting on June 30 2006 and finishing on August 6 2006.
  • Three possible new songs from her upcoming third album were performed during this tour: "Maybe", "Anymore", and "Yeah".
  • During this tour, Clarkson included a soulful, beat-heavy rendition of Marc Broussard's song "Home," as well as a touching cover of Ray Lamontagne's "Shelter." These two artists are relatively unknown in her fanbase, but she was quick to point both out as being very talented musicians.
