Deletion

Due to the current policies that Wikipedia have, this person isn't well-known or high profile to have an entry for being just a local Cllr.

Wrong. Subject is highly notable. Put it on AfD if you don't agree. David | Talk 13:53, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

So put an Afd on it, a delete tag wont do it and will just be removed. As he is male Principal Speaker of the Green party I woul;d strongly oppose deletion if it cam to an Afd, SqueakBox 14:09, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

David/SqueakBox

But what on earth is Afd?

Darren

Darren, look at WP:AfD for details on how to nominate an article for deletion ('AfD') and how that differs from the speedy delete method you have been attempting. I'd also suggest you follow David's advice (rather than insult him) on another talk page and assess how previous deletion votes on local politicians have gone. Many do survive (even some defeated candidates) and although I tend to prefer to delete councillor articles where no other claim to notability is asserted (as a retiring councillor myself), I would probably have marginally voted to keep Darren Hayday based on the mayoral claims if you hadn't written the page yourself. Whatever, the answer is not to delete every other councillor on WP, and especially not leading councillors like Sally Powell or national Party leaders like Keith Taylor.
You may also want to sign your posts in talk pages using four tildes ~~~~ so that everyone can find you and your work more easily. Mtiedemann 15:04, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

Dear Mtiedemann,

Thank you very much for your advice!

[edit] Assessment

Not a stub, but only one real subsection, no picture, so I'd say Start-Class rather than B-Class. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 20:24, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
