Deletion Policy
1) Biography policy
Please refer to the Wikipedia entry on biographise:
"This guideline is not Wikipedia policy (and indeed the whole concept of notability is contentious), it is the opinion of many Wikipedians that these criteria are fair test of whether a person has sufficient external notice to ensure that they can be covered from a neutral point of view based on verifiable information from reliable sources, without straying into original research (all of which are formal policies). Failure to meet these criteria does not mean that a subject must not be included, meeting one or more does not mean that a subject must be included."
Since it is not official Wikipedia policy, there is no basis to the call to have this page deleted.
2) People still alive policy
Please also refer to the Wikipedia entry on biographies:
"The following types of people may merit their own Wikipedia articles, as there is likely to be a good deal of verifiable information available about them and a good deal of public interest in them. This is not intended to be an exclusionary list. Just because someone doesn't fall into one of these categories doesn't mean an article on the person should automatically be deleted.
- Political figures holding international, national or statewide/provincewide office or members of a national, state or provincial legislature. - Major local political figures who receive significant press coverage - Published authors, editors, and photographers who have written books with an audience of 5,000 or more or in periodicals with a circulation of 5,000 or more
Not only is this not an official Wikipedia policy, Keith Marlowe is covered by the above sections on people still alive.
- Yes, but this Keith Marlowe is nowhere near a notable person. He has not received any significant press coverage at all. In fact, he even has fewer results on Google than I do, and that's saying something. I am extermely sure that we wouldn't have any info on this someone like this from 100 years ago, and I really don't think anyone will care about him 100 years from now. And if it turns out that Keith Marlowe does become someone famous, that's what the deletion log is for. Simply because a whole slew of anonymous editors from Canada (yes, I verified it with "whois") seems to think that he's notable doesn't make him so.
- p.s. Don't think for a moment that I don't know that you're also from University of Windsor with Marlowe.M1ss1ontomars2k4 20:36, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
CSD nomination
This was nominated for CSD. However, the reasons listed are not appropriate for CSD. It should go through AFD. Capitalistroadster 03:38, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- Er...when was it nominated for CSD? M1ss1ontomars2k4 13:15, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Latest Delete Tag
We just spent 5 days disussing whether this page should be deleted. Now someone has added yet another delete tag. This is gratuitous, pure and simple. It should be removed ASAP (this means you Ameria Idol).
-Agreed a moderator defintely needs to do something about this abusive behaviour.--Blogger82 20:49, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

- If someone puts a db tag, it stays until an admin decides what to do. Though, I think a speedy is a bit much, especially since this article was created 5 months ago. Whatever. --M1ss1ontomars2k4 00:41, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

- This is annoying know one is fixing the article I tried. A Speedy deletion is too much. We should put a db tag. FellowWikipedian 00:54, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
- Er... a db tag IS speedy delete ;) --M1ss1ontomars2k4 18:31, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

- Well I think what we're seeing here is obviously many of Marlowe's political enemies coming out and harassing him. Which is too bad, because I think the article adds a lot to modern Canadian political history and takes away from the entire community (especially with all the vandalism that has taken place). Anyways its good to see that more citations have been added! You're great for the wikipedian community. It defintely needs more people like you! Blogger82 22:43, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- How does someone who has never been elected to public office have "political enemies"?
- Well, now you know why he didn't get elected. He ran against enemies who won. --M1ss1ontomars2k4 18:30, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
- He was elected to a position with significant opposition. Blogger82 13:03, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
BowRiver75 Comments
Violates many of wikipedia policies including the use of meatpuppets, sockpuppets, posting using banned IP addresses, vandalism by puppets of the puppetmaster when wiki members add content to it, and the fact that the information is not relevant to Canadian public, Conservative Party, or WIKI-BIO policy.
This page needs to be relisted for deletion. Main concerns, the discussion to "keep" the page was run by sockpuppets, meatpuppets, and strawmen of maybe 1 or 2 people. Second, the owner was blocked from wikipedia due to constant reverting of admin edits, and then switched IP's and continued on (clearly the case by verifing the history of this page). Third, it does not meet the basic WIKI-BIO requirements, this article has nothing to do with the Conservative Party of Can, relevant/current canadian affairs/politics, and this person does not hold a public office position. Re-adding for deletion. Lets have a real discussion, with out the crauft and vanity from Blogger82 and other puppets.

- BowRiver75, there was 5 days of discussion. I don't know about the other contributors, but I am not a sock, and or meat puppet (whatever those are). Anyway, I think if you look at the page, I have made it more 'neutral' and added in some citations. Instead of re-engaging in a 5 day debate, let's just improve what we can. Thanks.

- This information was found on Google Canada. The website and article information is relevant to Canadian public and the Progressive Conservative Youth Federation. Please do not Re-add this for deletion. Thanks. FellowWikipedian 4:22, (From a person in Canada who realy understands Canadian Politics) 27 April 2006 (UTC)

Ameria Idol
I have reviewed your edits and they appear to be unverifiable. You need to have citations for things like 'in some people's opinions Keith has fallen far' or 'he couldn't get a delegate spot' etc. If you cannot do so, then do not post.
Additionally, the idea behind Wikipedia is that people without strong feelings either pro or con are the ones to post. It seems that you have an agenda. Refrain from making further edits until you can be objective, or at least back up the statements you have added by sourcing a publication of some sort.
If you cannot do either of these things, then future edits may be considered vandalism.
- Feel free to contact the Conservative Party or Marlowe himself to check if he attend the convention as a voting delegate, I could be wrong. As I simply added that as somebody else had but was deleted unfairly. Also please leave the links alone. As deleting things that contribute to a page are viewed as vandalism.
-
- Ameria, if you're going to edit the article and introduce beliefs, you have to back them up with solid evidence. Perhaps if you had a newspaper article or something of that sort that would contradict that evidence that's already been presented then that would be helpful. Thanks. - He's an unknown user (see talk page history for what i mean)? Look who's talking, Mr. "I-claim-to-be-Blogger82-but-I-almost-always-edit-as-an-anonymous-IP-from-Canada"! Ok, I violated WP:BITE, but don't accuse others of editing anonymously if you don't log in either. --M1ss1ontomars2k4 22:37, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
