[edit] Fandom

The Fandom section in this article was removed because it didn't follow wikipedia's policy on NPOV:

"Atobe is probably the most popular character in the whole series due to his charisma, fanon slashability (his character traits make it easy to slash him with other male characters) and quirks. Very often, though, these traits overshadow other sides of his personality, and he falls prey to fanon by breing portrayed as:

  • An unethical captain who reigns over his team as a complete tyrant (sometimes even using sexual favors of different kinds);
  • A melodramatic and tragic figure who is in unrequited love with another man (the target of this love is usually Tezuka) but can't be with him for different reasons (family pressures, not having his love returned, etc.)
  • A sex-obsessed fiend who slept his way to the top and will have sex with practically everyone.
  • A whiney, bitchy diva who expects everyone to lick his feet and kiss his ass.
  • A cruel bastard who plays with everyone's feelings to satisfy his own ego.

The most popular fanon romantic prospects for Atobe are: Kunimitsu Tezuka, Genichiroh Sanada, Yuushi Oshitari, his coach and music teacher Taro Sakaki, Ryo Shishido, Akira Kamio, and many others."

[edit] Plot Spoilers

This character page contains some plot spoilers that I think should be avoided. I am specifically referring to the image and the last paragraph in the character section which states that he loses the match in the Nationals and proceeds to shave his head. I did not edit it myself because I don't know where to draw the line between essential character description and story-line spoiler, but I feel that some warning should at least be given to readers of this particular section that it contains details of story line events.
