Keith Short

Keith Short (born March 8, 1941) is a sculptor in the British feature film industry.

He was born and grew up in Wolverhampton, later moving to London to work as a stone carver on the restoration of the Henry VIII chapel at Westminster Abbey.

He started on feature films in 1979, working on Ridley Scott's Alien.

During his career he has helped to create several iconic pieces, such as the Batcar for Tim Burton's Batman, the Ark for Steven Spielberg's film Raiders of the Lost Ark, the Emperor's chair in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and the Tree of the Dead for Sleepy Hollow.

He has been the head of a department of sculptors on many films including Oliver Stone's Alexander, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Mortal Kombat, The Fifth Element, The Princess Bride, Willow, Highlander, and Greystoke - The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes.
