Keith Nelson born February 8, 1969, is the lead guitarist for the Hard Rock band Buckcherry. He was one of the founding members of the band, along with singer Josh Todd. He and Todd are the only original members still in the band. During Buckcherry's temporary breakup, Nelson and Todd were in place to be the rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist, respectively, of a band featuring former Guns N' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum. This did not last and Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland replaced Todd and Wasted Youth guitarist Dave Kushner replaced Nelson in the band now known as Velvet Revolver. Despite this, one song made Velvet Revolver's debut album Contraband from the original sessions with Todd and Nelson. The song is "Dirty Little Thing", and Nelson received writing credits for the song. In 2005 Nelson went into the studio with Canadian rockers Theory of a Deadman. Nelson worked as a Guitar Tech for the band providing many guitars and amplifiers from his own personal collection and is acknowledged in the album credits. In 2006, Nelson and Todd returned as Buckcherry with a new album and a new lineup around them.
