Keilor Football Club is an Australian rules football club located in the outer north western suburbs of Melbourne.
The first football match played at Keilor was in 1894 against an Essendon junior team. In the period 1894 – 1925, Keilor played matches against various sides including city hotel social clubs and nearby towns.
Keilor’s first competition matches were in 1926, when the club was a founding member of the Keilor & Broadmeadows Football Association. The club won premierships in 1926 and 1928 in this new league.
In 1932, Keilor joined the Essendon District Football League (EDFL) and has remained in this competition ever since. Success was not easy to come by, and despite a number of previous finals appearances, it was 1968 before Keilor won its first senior premiership (B-Grade) in the EDFL.
It was not until 1957 that Keilor Football Club began fielding junior teams. The junior program has steadily growth since and the club now boasts 16 underage teams as well as its open-age senior and reserve teams.
