I was only able to find the following information about the crater's namesake. Unfortunately it is unclear that this would meet wikipedia's notability standards for a stand-alone article. —RJH (talk) 21:52, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

William M. Kearons (1878-1948) was a minister at Saint Lukes Episcopal Church in Fall River, Massachusetts. As an amateur astronomer he was noted for his observations of sunspots as well as his photographs of the Sun. He published an article in The Telescope called "How I Observe the Sun".
