This media was proposed for deletion as a replaceable non-free content. The result was to Keep the image, as no adequate free-licensed image exists or can be created to fulfill the limited role performed by this image at the time deletion was considered. However, this image may be replaceable by free images in other contexts, and in such cases the free image must take precedence. A discussion of this decision may exist on the image talk page. |

[edit] Fair use rationale
[edit] Fair use for General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University
The use of this image on Wikipedia is contended to be a fair use and not fail Wikipedia's non-free content criterion,
- It is a image of Sri Lanka's sole defence University.
- It is a image of a building in a restricted military area, hence out of bounds for the public for the time being and where photography is restricted.
- Since it is used solely for educational purposes in a not-for-profit encyclopedia,
- It is of much lower resolution than the original (copies made from it will be of very inferior quality)
- The image is being used in an informative way and should not detract from the original work.
- No free or public domain images have been located for this item,
- The material value of the possible copyright is not believed to be lessened by its use here.
