[edit] WBZ/CBS Mandate

Take a look at www.wbztv.com....WBZ does not use the CBS mandate anymore (and they have one really goofy looking logo now). It was stated awhile back in one of the Boston papers that WBZ was going to bring back the old "4" logo. Also, all news music was removed from the KDKA page (and all other TV pages, not just KD) per the WP:TVS talk page. - SVRTVDude (Yell - Work) 05:09, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Also, you might want to take a look at WP:OWN. If another editor/admin comes along, that is the first thing they are going to tell you to look at. Most editors/admins are sticklers on WP:OWN. I am too, but not as far as some editors/admins go. It is good that you know alot about KDKA, but there are always talk pages going on (like on WP:TVS) so ya have to keep an eye out.
Also, I found a link and a reference on the WBZ page saying that WBZ is the 5th to depart from the CBS mandate. "This makes the station the first station owned by CBS to depart from the CBS Mandate standardization since; it joins sister stations KDKA-TV Pittsburgh, WCCO-TV Minneapolis-St. Paul, KUTV Salt Lake City and WJZ-TV Baltimore in not following the Mandate currently." <from the WBZ page and the link is here. Hope all this helps. Take care...SVRTVDude (Yell - Work) 05:29, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] News Open Music

Please don't add any news opens to the KDKA page. They will just be delete per the talk on WP:TVS. Thanks. - SVRTVDude (Yell - Toil) 16:24, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:PKingBrown.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:PKingBrown.jpeg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:53, 20 April 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 02:53, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Patrice.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:Patrice.jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Hello

Seems I owe you an apology as things obviously went too far. When it was found that you and Kdkatpir2 were not sockpuppets, I felt like crap for accusing you. The next Kdkatpir2 was blocked for sockpuppetry (which is still confusing) and I let me emotions get the better of me. It is not an excuse for my behaviour and I apologize.

I should have sat down and wrote a note that wasn't mean, instead of accusing you a second time around. Hell, I should have apologized the first time around. But I didn't and we all got blocked for it. I don't expect you to like me, hold out your internet hand and go "everything is cool" or anything, I just want you to know that I am sorry and hopefully we can work together, in some way, on the KDKA page in the future. Take Care....SVRTVDude (VT) 23:18, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Oh, and I have deleted all the crap from your talk page that was put on here by myself and others. - SVRTVDude (VT) 23:19, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks a lot . I would also like to say that I accept your apology! :) Kd lvr 23:24, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
Nicely done, both of you. KP Botany 01:56, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for finding those HTML goofs I made. I'm not up on HTML and didn't realize the slash was needed!! Thanks. --Write_On_1983 talk | contribs 22:50, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] User:70.89.227.205

This is due to an edit dispute, and is not vandalism. The Evil Spartan 18:05, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

What is? Kd lvr 20:35, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
You reported this user to WP:AIV. However, what this user was doing was not vandalism; it was an edit dispute with you (I happen to think this user is correct, too, as KDKA is of prime importance to the city of Pittsburgh). The Evil Spartan 20:38, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
Oh, I did not report them; I believe it was User:TREYWiki, but I am not sure. Kd lvr 19:31, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dear Kd lvr

Hello, Kd.

I would like to tell you how terribly sorry I am for my actions against you. You are a wonderful editor and what I did was wrong. We should have taken it right to checkuser, but we incorrectly engaged you on my talk pages as well as yours. I wish I could take back the words I had said, but that is impossible. Also, I apologize for not coming to you sooner, It took me a while to build up the courage to come say this to you. To this day, I can not believe that accusations we brought on you. I think now that I am a better editor, more mature. I hope you will forgive my actions. God Bless, --TREYWiki 02:11, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! Apology Accepted! Kd lvr 09:54, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
I am glad you accepted my apology and I hope we can put this behind us. I still have the KDKA page on my watchlist and will watch it for vandalism. I hope we can work together on that page. Thanks very much for accepting my apology! --TREYWiki 01:49, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] KDKA Times

The reason I have this listed this way, is that the 4p cast ends at 4:59 and 59seconds pm...the 5p cast begins at 5:00pm. It looks weird, but techincally true. David Letterman begins at exactly 11:35pm, the newscast ends at around 11:34. When newscasts are listed at the same time, even though they are a minute, it is overlapping time. It does look weird, but technically, it is true. Take Care....NeutralHomer T:C 02:22, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

I know that it is technically true, but it is not listed like that anywhere else here on Wikipedia, so that is why I changed it. --Kd lvr 16:12, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
...and that is cool, I was just trying to be as encyclopedic as possible. But either way works:) Take Care....NeutralHomer T:C 22:53, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] UserBoxes

Take a look at my userpage....see how I have my userboxes? I made a special page for them and it straightens them out in a line. You can have them by category too. It makes it so they are not all over the place. If you would like, once you are done adding userboxes you want to your page, I can make you a userbox page and then add them there so it looks like my page. Let me know if you want me to. Take Care...>NeutralHomer T:C 02:14, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

Hello, my friend....made an attempt at organizing your userboxes (hope you don't mind) and it worked quite nicely. If you don't like it, you, of course, can revert. Hope you don't mind, but we all have a cluttered userpage at the beginning. Someone reorganized mine for me and that taught me how. Take Care....NeutralHomer T:C 18:43, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks a lot! Looks great! I wasn't sure how that was done. Again, thank you. Kd lvr 21:31, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

At the very bottom of the user infobox, it will say "userboxes", just put whatever userbox you like side-by-side-by-side each other like above. It looks weird, but it comes out in a straight line in the box. If you have any problems, please message me and I will be glad to give you hand. [edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:KDKACW.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:KDKACW.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aksibot 00:01, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] June 2007

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on KDKA-TV. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. --T. Wiki 23:26, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 72 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating the three-revert rule on KDKA-TV. In the future, please solve editing disputes through discussion rather than edit warring. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

Heimstern Läufer (talk) 23:48, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "This is absurd. I was only reverting edits made by people who think they can make up there own rules that are nowhere to be found on Wikipedia. That rule being that programming is not allowed on the station KDKA-TV's article. This is obviously not an official Wikipedia rule. If it was, this content would not be on almost every established article in the project; in addition, WP:TVS wouldn't say that it is content that belongs on the station's article. So I ask that I could be unblocked because I was only protecting the KDKA-TV article from being destroyed by children acting like Wikipedia is a game, and wasting editors', such as myself, time. Kd lvr 00:34, 8 June 2007 (UTC)"

Decline reason: "Wikipedia's three revert rule provides an exception if you are reverting simple vandalism, but that dos not seem to be the case here. Please understand that as strongly as you feel about your position, those with whom you are disputing feel equally as strongly that they are correct. In the future, please avoid excessive reverts and discuss the issue on the talk page. If an edit war is going on, you can always ask at WP:RFP for the page to be protected. — BigDT 01:35, 8 June 2007 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

I'd also suggest you stop with the personal attacks, before you get yourself indefy-blocked.--T. Wiki 02:56, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Also, if you look at WP:NOT#DIR it clearly states TV schedules should not be in Wikipedia. Its an official policy that has been shown to you numerous times; also I would say that a Policy on Wikipedia would have authority over TV stations as well, WP:TVS doesn't get some special exemption.--T. Wiki 03:00, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Power-ten.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Power-ten.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:20, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
