May I have your attention please. If someone is kind enough to leave a comment on this page, please do not delete it, even if you think it is spam. I am a big boy and I do have the mental capacity to determine what is spam and what isn't. I ask that admins please respect this. THANKS!

[edit] Trivia section on Michelle Malkin

Sir, I would like if you were kind enough to either message me or write on the discussion page why you felt it necessary to delete the trivia section. I can see why under the strictest of conditions a person wouldn't want to have it there, but I beleive it should be there, so you could at least say why, instead of going straight into an edit-war using your 1337 little "pop-ups".Anonywiki 19:06, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My concern about your username (KD5TVI)

Hello, KD5TVI, and thank you for contributing to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

Your username is currently an e-mail address that can interfere with some MediaWiki software functions because of the @ symbol. Your user page suggests that you will be changing it soon anyways, but I wanted to provide you with information on changing it correctly.

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

  • If you can relieve my concern through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
  • If the two of us can't agree here, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Admins usually abide by agreements reached through this process.
  • If you decide to just go ahead and change your username, it is possible for you to keep your present contributions history under the new username: simply request a new name here following the guidelines on that page, rather than creating a whole new account.

Let me reassure you that my writing here means I don't think your username is grossly, blatantly, or obviously inappropriate; such names get reported straight to Wikipedia:Administrator_intervention_against_vandalism (WP:AIV), or blocked on sight. This is more a case where opinions might differ, and it would be good to reach some consensus -- either here or at WP:RFC/NAME. So I look forward to a friendly discussion, and to enjoying your continued participation on Wikipedia. Thank you again! -- ju66l3r 21:40, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Autumnfest

I'm planning a push to bring Woonsocket to Featured Article status, and covering Autumnfest within the article will help the article reach the comprehensiveness criterion on Wikipedia:Featured Article Criteria. — Deckiller 20:57, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Assistance request

You are correct. Insertion of potentially controversial material in a living person's biography is covered by the biography of living persons policy, which indicates that it absolutely must be attributed to an independent and reliable source. You probably should contact the IP editor's talk, and make them aware of this. Seraphimblade Talk to me 17:27, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Recent revert

You recently used the rollback function on popups for this edit [1] reverting some changes I hade made to the Michelle Malkin article, which I came to from RfC. Please note that using popups in this nature is deprecated except for cases of outright vandalism. Also, a revert of that sort should usually be justified on the talkpage of what appears to be an article in the midst of a content dispute.

In case you did so in error, which is what I have assumed, I apologise in advance for bothering you. Thank you for your attention, and happy editing. Hornplease 17:01, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:LaSalle Academy Logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:LaSalle Academy Logo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:13, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WPEP

I don't believe it's officially dark yet. I was driving up to Foxboro this morning & heard oldies on 1570 but didn't stick around long enough to catch an ID. From what I've heard & read, Keating is supposed to fire up a test signal on, I think, the 18th. Someone on Radio-Info said that under F.C.C. laws they can use a minimum level of 25%, or in this case 7.5kW. I've never seen that rule but I've never looked for it either. I'd love to find out when WPEP's last day will be so I can attempt to record it but I don't think anyone over there will talk to me because they think I called the F.C.C.. I didn't. Anyway, I'm still reporting traffic & doing odds & ends @ WARL. How about you? Stereorock 00:06, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Sometimes I think I should've become an electrician! I hope you're enjoying your new work but sorry about the double commute! I guess UGH is right! Are you working with computers? Stereorock 00:12, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

I should tell that to Jason, KB1KVD. He'd be drooling. Then he'd try to steal one of those bad boys to use as an amp! 208V 15A 3phase, eh? Not a bad chunk of power! So you're going around to hospitals & such, right? Stereorock 00:21, 16 October 2007 (UTC) P.S.: It's gotta be much more $ than broadcasting! Stereorock 00:22, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of New England Institute of Technology

New England Institute of Technology, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that New England Institute of Technology satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/New England Institute of Technology and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of New England Institute of Technology during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. ^demon[omg plz] 02:46, 15 November 2007 (UTC) 02:46, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rollback

Your request for rollback privilege could not be granted due to technical difficulties: the presence of an @ sign in your name makes it impossible for local users to grant permissions. You may wish to consider a username change; your userpage seems to indicate you were already thinking about it. —Random832 15:28, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

No need to reapply, just drop one of us a note after your name change and we will do it for you ASAP. NoSeptember 17:21, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Just a note: The more edits you make between now and when you request your username change, the longer the job queue will be to perform the change. In English, that means the sooner you ask, the faster it'll go. That, and there are some people looking forward to seeing you show everyone how to use rollback correctly! Good luck! [edit] WikiProject Germany Invitation

Hello, KD5TVI! I'd like to call your attention to the WikiProject Germany and the German-speaking Wikipedians' notice board. I hope their links, sub-projects and discussions are interesting and even helpful to you. If not, I hope that new ones will be.

[edit] List of radio stations in Rhode Island

There's a simple reason why I keep reverting to remove these two radio stations, and it's not a bias against LPFM stations. Each of the 50 states have a radio list, and this is the ONLY one which User:Stereorock seems determined to have LPFM stations included. It would be different, for instance, if he showed any initiative to add LPFM stations to all 50 lists, or even started a movement to have them added. I'm reverting for consistency with the other lists, he's reverting due to WP:OWN. I hope this explains my revertions. JPG-GR (talk) 00:00, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
