The station went on the air as KRFD-FM on 1998-02-09. On 1998-09-11, the station changed its call sign to KSGI, on 1999-02-01 to KRFD, on 2000-02-25 to KACE, on 2000-12-31 to KMGR, on 2001-02-15 to KACE, on 2001-05-29 to KRFD, on 2001-06-15 to KLGL, on 2005-08-08 to the current KCYQ,[2]
