Kyle Flood is a student at Ball State University majoring in education. A graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, Kyle has lived his entire life in Indiana. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Kyle's family has resided on the east side of Indianapolis in the Irvington Historic District for 21 years. Kyle has devoted himself to volunteer work and helping others.
Before moving to Muncie, Indiana for college, Kyle spent much of his time working with his local church, playing on the varsity soccer team, singing in school choral groups, and working with numerous academic activities. Kyle graduated in the top 5% of his high school class and earned multiple awards and scholarships for his achievement.
While at Ball State University, Kyle has joined college clubs and spent a semester tutoring first and second graders in 2006. Kyle is also a member of the Human Rights Campaign.
Kyle is active with Spectrum and the Latino Student Union. In November 2007 Kyle was accepted to the position of Liaison for Spectrum to the Latino Student Union. Kyle is also the membership coordinator for Ball State Students for Barack Obama.
Kyle Flood has very deep roots in the country of Ireland. In the late 1940's, Kyle's Grandmother and Grandfather immigrated to Gary, Indiana to find work in the railroad and steel mills. Kyle has a duel citizenship with Ireland and America. In 1993 and again in 2004, Kyle visited Ireland to retrace his history and visit distant relatives.
Kyle's interests include politics, urban planning, education, telecommunications, sports, gay rights, music, history, architecture, and the Indianapolis Colts.

- In 2006 Kyle was featured in an article for the PBS documentary "Generation Next." Kyle's comments on religion were published online on October 23, 2006. [1]
- Kyle did Irish Dance from 1994-2000.
- Kyle was one of eight in the first graduating class from the Center for Inquiry in 2001. Center for Inquiry is a K-8 magnet school, a part of Indianapolis Public Schools.
- In 2005 Kyle was awarded the position of Co-Commander of the Tech Legion, a prestigious organization that recognizes four years of work in high school. The same year Kyle recieved a history award and a telecommunications award on "Supreme Day."
- Kyle was a co-captain of the Arsenal Technical High School varsity soccer team in 2004. At the end of the season, Kyle recieved the "Character Award" for his devotion to the team.
- From 2003-2005 Kyle was a member of the National Honors Society.
- In the summer of 1993, Kyle and his family lived in Winchester, England for three months.
- Kyle participated in LeadAmerica conferences focused on international diplomacy in 2004. The conferences were held in Washington DC at Gallaudet University and lasted two weeks.
- In 2004 Kyle participated in a conference for "Tomorrow's Leaders." The conference was held at the University of Indianapolis and hosted by Indiana Senator Richard Lugar.
- Kyle released a short series of 30-second public service announcements on Drinking and Driving in 2004. Two of the three ads recieved awards from the Indiana Broadcasting Association.
- From 2002-2005 Kyle was a member of the Technicians, Tech High School's show choir, and Techoir.
- Kyle has met several celebrities and politicians including Fm. President Bill Clinton, Fm. Vice President Al Gore, US Senator Richard Lugar, Comedian David Letterman, Comedian Margaret Cho, Journalist Lisa Ling, US Congresswoman Julia Carson, Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama, and Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson. Kyle also saw President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney under different circumstances, as he was protesting their 2005 inauguration at the time.
- Kyle has a "secret twin" named Yvonne Price.
- Kyle is currently involved with school activities that include Spectrum (gay-straight alliance), Latino Student Union, and Students for Barack Obama. Kyle formally attended American Sign Language meetings in 2006.
- In 2007, Kyle was awarded for being on the Dean's List at Ball State University (Grade Point Average of 3.5 of higher).
- Kyle was the victim of a hate crime in May of 2008 at a bar in Muncie, Indiana.
